Freehand Ribbon has disappeared

I am an oldie! I have been using Freehand for 30 years - maybe more. The version I have is Freehand MX. I believe it is the last version that came out.
I use it all the time. When I turned my computer on last evening and opened Freehand, the top two lines are missing. Also no toolbar. I restarted - same result. I reinstalled and got the same result. Does anyone have any clue what is going on?
