Funding - why not Kickstarter?
Funding - why not Kickstarter?
I was wondering why you have not chosen Kickstarter to manage the funding of this new app? I think you could reach a bigger audience and more backers using that platform.
Re: Funding - why not Kickstarter?
Easy answers:
1) If you don't reach your goals, you won't get any money at all, so we could not even develop step-by-step like we can do now.
2) Kickstarter tries to hide no successfull projects more easily making a bad image
3) No way to show milestones on Kickstarter like we have now
4) and the worst point for us:
Even here after newsletter to 6500 people (!!) interested in Freehand we've didn't gain much backers at all. Now, on Kickstarter, where there're no so specialized people looking exactly for that chances are so much lower to get anything.
Btw we've also got a campaign running on indiegogo - http://www.indiegogo.com/quasado but it proves of no much success.

Re: Funding - why not Kickstarter?
The audience of kickstarter dwarfs the 6500 newsletter recipients.

I think a Kickstarter campaign would be a good test of whether an even greater momentum is out there just waiting.
