I use Freehand for everything graphic - from page layouts to original art. The beauty of it has been it's simplicity and straightforward ease of use without all the bells and whistles. Here are some of my names:
InspiredArt
Perfection
Imperium
VisionArt
ArtisanPro

Freeform - I've chosen this because it implies close ties to Freehand in it's title similarity and also ease of use with a nod to open, creative and expressive ways of communication.

this is my favorite so far-- does the best job of echoing the original name whilst maintaining the meaning behind it.

I dont have any ideas yet, but just wanted to say a +1 to FreeForm and also to Vectrillus, in spite of the fact I find it a bit of a complex name and maybe a bit too latin sounding.

I see sensable FreeForm 3D Software though - http://www.sensable.com/

Manolibre sounds good, but it means "handsfree" which isn't quite right I think...

It sounds natural, points to its heritage, is (sort of) free on the web, is internationally understandable and feels good to mention in a I’m-using-FreeStyle,-what’s-your-app? way.

Vectopus

would be my suggestion. Octopus are interesting and highly intelligent animals with many arms making a good totem animal for designers. The many arms stand also as a symbol for the many abilities the program will provide. And it will make a cool logo
