Good day!
My iMac still runs on Snow Leopard because I use Freehand everyday for work. I was wondering if I could install the latest/later OS X/s on Parallels 9 so I could have updated apps like itunes etc.. Can El Capitan run on Parallels 9? Is it ok that my main OS is older than the one in Parallels? I know this is not a Freehand question but I think it kinda is since I don't want to update my main OS so I can use Freehand. And I asked it here rather than in Apple Communities since I know you guys would understand more why I wouldn't update to the latest OS X. Thanks!
Dave
OS X Question
Re: OS X Question
That is a good question(!)
I wouldn't have thought of that angle to keep Snow Leopard as the main OS. My guess is it would work but I think there is a legal restriction with new OSX whereas Snow Leopard server was discounted by Apple to $20 to use in a virtual system.
Asking the Apple community is actually a good idea and definitely post the answers back here.

Re: OS X Question
UPDATE:
I successfully installed OS X Lion on Parallels Desktop 9 with Snow Leopard as my main OS. Now I could sync my iPhone which I regretfully updated to iOS 9 before.
