This week, Adobe sent out a Survey request for CS5 and other user product data. Did anyone else get this?
Most interesting was the page for Drawing and Illustration Software and what Adobe included as competitors to Illustrator. Here is the list of choices in order:
- Fireworks (CS5,4,3, and MM Studio 8)
- Flash Catalyst
- Flash (CS5,4,3, and Pro 8)
- FreeHand
- Illustrator (CS5,4,3,2 or earlier)
- Aviary Raven
- CAD programs (such as AutoCAD, etc)
- Canvas
- CorelDRAW
- Corel Painter
- InkScape
- Microsoft Expression Design
- OmniGraffle
- Xara Designer/Etreme
- Other:
Personally, I choked on a few of these; like where are the Mac-based alternatives to Adobe apps? Only OmniGraffle is Mac-native and it is a diagramming/chart tool. InkScape comes closest but still non-native to Macs OSX.
So my question is what do you all feel about Adobe's list?

Re: Who took the Adobe CS5 survey?
I don't know why you were surprised by the list as Adobe has really always ruled the Mac world. That's why firms like Corel & Xara have not ported over to the Mac as Adobe has it all tied up and its not worth the expense doing so.
