I still have (unused) the original Aldus Fontographer package somewhere, and I admit that I never really got to grips with it. I still have (Aldus) FreeHand 3, (Macomedia) 5, 9 and MX on my PPC and they all still work for me. One thing I never updated was Fontographer and it remains disused. But recently I came across a new Font Creator that works on Mac PC and Linux. It is BIRDFONT (version 1) bugs expected and I suspect that it will only work on intel Macs, so might be worth a spin in creating a unique font.

Font Creator
Re: Font Creator
Cool, I'll try it.
I sometimes have to create symbols & icons for clients to use within text. FreeHand allows copy/pasting a graphic directly into text field but Illustrator doesn't. So I've needed to create a font specifically with the graphic symbol to add to text.
Sometimes it is just easier to have a custom icon font if the icon symbol shows up a lot in a book. But I don't need Fontographer or FontForge to create this ... something lighter would be great. Does Birdfont allow pasting in vector art?
