Shift and command key

Postby FFH Thü » Wed Dec 05, 2018 11:50 am

I don´t know what happened with shift in Parallels FreeHand, for moving along horizontally/vertically or zoom proportional.

Or changing the tools from pathtool to arrow while holding command.

This is all not working for me and both have always been very essential. Feels like missing a finger.

But I don´t see any options to influence that.

This problem is specific to Germanic language keyboards and Parallels.
The keystroke layout does not match between the Shift / option(ALT) output and recognized keystrokes in Parallels.

This has to do with germanic special characters and the Left Option Key and Right option key give different commands.

This is solved by mapping the native keyboard strokes to Parallels.

See this article at Parallels support about similar issues in Swedish keyboards.
https://forum.parallels.com/threads/map-right-alt-key.340596/

Unfortunately we cannot help further because we have no access to Swedish/Danish/German or other language keyboard.

Please keep us updated

We have identified the issue as follows:

Any non US keyboard needs to be added within the Guest OS / System Preferences / Language & Text / Input Sources.

Select the keyboard you are using - German / Spanish / Afghan Dari etc...

Please note there are many different keyboard possibilities that are similar e.g.
German and Austrian and Swiss German
Spanish and Spanish - ISO
