All about running FreeHand inside a virtual system on more recent Macs with OS 10.7 or newer.

Making OSX to look like (and function) as OS9

Here's how to do get that look which in many ways is better for Graphically inclined FreeHand users:

Use FONTDOC to simply list your installed Type fonts and display them WYSIWYG.

Get back the missing Classic Apple MENU in OSX (customise to suit in preferences).

Others (third party) Classic themes I have running (in osx) include 'Window Shade' here: http://www.rgbworld.com/extras/blog/getblog?blog_id=18
or (the original haxie 'WindowShadeX' (no longer updated to 10.6 but sadly missed)

Plus:

The Max osx 'Print Window' app (versions from 10.3 to 10.9) recreates OS9 ability to print directly from folder contents. (a very useful 'print out' function examining client files).

I also changed the dock to appear on the LEFT side of the screen (control panel (system preferences) > Dock > Small Dock size + No magnification + No Genie effect. No animate opening). Also us Show/Hide Dock by pressing 'COMMAND + D' on your keyboard (creates a better less distracting OS9 look.

All this to get back to DTP 'normality' free from OSX fancy distractions for Graphic Artists using FreeHand.
