2024 July update - OSXFH - Parallels

Hi all Here's an update on where we are with OSXFH. Parallels v19.3 has removed support for all OSX versions pre OSX 10.9 which means going forward they will not commit to keeping Snow Leopard running in emulation on Intel Macs or attempt to bridge over to ARM chipsets. Currently OSXFH works fine in...

Re: OSXFH Parallels High Sierra

Hi We’ve constantly upgraded our OSX’s and computers and have encountered no issues. Our current work stations run OSX Ventura 13.5.1 with Parallels V19 and it is smoother than ever. Ventura has the new Universal Control software built in that provides for easy linking of computers, iPads, etc.. to ...

Re: Another way to keep FreeHand MX alive!

Hi, a few thoughts. 1)FH MX is not a 32 bit universal or Intel app, it is a PowerPC Classic that only worked on the 32 bit OSX via the (32 bit) Rosetta interpreter provided by Apple during the PPC to OSX transition. Rosetta was removed post Snow Leopard which was the end for PPC apps. The whole Mac ...

Re: FreeHand MX and mac OS11

Hi FH in parallels emulation of 10.6.8 works better than ever in Big Sur OSX11 / Parallels v16.5 and 17 on Intel Macs. The most stable and fastest combo to date ARM based Macs (M1 silicone etc) Bad news. Parallels cannot run any non ARM OS on an ARM chip. Parallels cannot run any windows software - ...

Re: OS Snow Leopard and Website Access

Hi Dave. All current users of 10.6.8 are experiencing the same issues and they will get worse. MAC FH users have 2 solutions: 1) Get new Mac and keep the old one around only for FH 2) Get new Mac and run FH on it via an emulation software. There are discussions in these forums as to how to do all th...

Re: OSXFH and Catalina?

Catalina and Parallels v15.2 work fine together
This combination feels faster and more stable than Parallels v14 on Catalina

Re: OSXFH and Catalina?

Works fine. Catalina and Parallels 14.1.x - No issues, stable Mojave and Parallels v15.1.x - No issues, stable Catalina and Parallels 15 - we haven't tried yet, install planned for later this month, but we don't foresee any issues because of the above combinations working well. Catalina takes some i...

Re: Keyboard issues in Freehand

These features work There is a lag in rendering the tooltips which creates the illusion of not functioning. Example: In Pen tool - depressing the Command Key turns the pen into temporary cursor/pointer - till the command key is released and pen tool resumes. This works but the Pen tool mousepoint do...
